    Hiccups come in life
Sometimes, despite the challenges, they are surprising blessings in the end.
Sometimes they cause much confusion and frustration for a long time.
God lead us through the hiccups of life.
Open our eyes to Your understanding.
Help us grow, always grow toward You.

Calling in maintenance concerns and attending to medical appointments must be done, and it should be done with sober conviction and firm resolve.

The joy of watching two brothers survive and learn together sailing a boat in 20 knot winds.

What a relief to watch them not capsize or turtle the boat and to lend helping hands at the end with multiple sailors’ boats.

The exhilaration of setting sail with another woman to learn the Vanguard waters on a gust day, with only a 420 rudder to direct the way.  It was a rough docking as we came in a bit hot and the center board got stuck, but we managed to not wreck the boat.

Sleep abandons the desperate but strengthens the strong. Dear Lord, please strengthen your people with deep slumber this eve.

We sat at the edge of a pier; the wind whipping across the right side of our faces. Gazing into the murky water below, I spied an upright cluster of pine needles floating toward the right. Fascinating!  The current flowed counter to the wind. The waves and chop indicated the water was moving toward our left but the bubbles and small debris revealed the opposite. How important it is to know what the tell tale of truth actually is.

Do you word play?  Words can hurt, uplift, stir up strife, bring life, and confuse. Two, three, twenty-five strung together to express thoughts, share emotions, ask questions, give a warning, describe a scene. They can bring healing or completely destroy, trust or instability.  Be careful the choice of words we string together.  It matters much, these words we speak and the words we leave unspoken.

    Six slippery stingrays
    Skimming stealthily beneath the surface,
Passing Paddle boarders on port side
    Along their peaceful patrol.

    Silent starlit night
Just the hum of the exterior ac
    Orion appears once again
    Fall skies
    Twinkling bright
    Place of peace

A bit of squabbling out on the pier
A few waves of surfer watching
    Beach spray sunset into dusk
Leader
Will you lead through the fire?
What when the fire dies?
Who are you leading and do you know your why?
Do you promote yourself above others?
Or do you look and see others, weaving talents together to yield a cloth of multiplied strength?
Deceptive is the idea that the best leader is one most skilled in his craft (be it flying a plane, designing technology, etc).
Perhaps leading others is a skill in itself.
Look just below the highest performing worker… for the one who watches, observes, encourages, challenges the team to grow.
Can an intrinsically skilled leader of people lead in multiple contexts, regardless of his/her specific job training?
Leader, lead people and know why you lead.
