What is it about sports that draws us to watch people crashing into each other? Always the potential for injury. “Man down on the field.” Players leaving the game with bruises and cuts. Watching perhaps can be more difficult than being in the game, especially as a parent. But I cheer for my boy and tell him, “Great job,” no matter whether he’s winning or losing. I see the thrill of being in something so physical and try to tell myself he will be ok. Take a deep breath and pray the game, the sport, yea he’s him how to live for the glory of God in all things.
On a similar note, I highly recommend watching Facing the Giants. Such a great movie to watch at the beginning of a sports season.
