We met at a table outside by the beach. Some sounds we practiced to improve communication. Voices of birds sang in our ears. The sun played on the metal tables populating the pavilion. Bits of sand graced our table and my notebook. We were part of the outside environment, and it made speech therapy feel a little bit exciting.
Our ideas flowed. I learned from my student as my student learned from me. Now, my mind continues to think on ideas of sound and articulation, of connection with clients and parents and friends.
